PROOF THAT INTEGRITY IS TIMELESS, the anniversary theme, included bringing Abraham Lincoln from Springfield, Ill. to this picnic of 1400 employees and family members. Lincoln recited The Gettysburg Address, told great stories and sang some favorite songs of the time. The families enjoyed quilting, brick and broom making, and games of that era. Their lunch included fried chicken and biscuits with apple butter. They had watermelon seed spitting contests and old line dances. It was a day of fun and enlightenment for all. |

Overwhelming comments of having enjoyed the event poured into the corporate office. The goal was to show just how old 150 years really is. This was accomplished. It was also to project honesty, and without words, Lincoln served that purpose. The big result and reward was the individual families coming together from all over the country to celebrate their companies’ birthday. They left with great pride and appreciation. |
